With all that is going on in Squamish, it can be hard to keep track of the dates critical to the upcoming municipal election.

In total, ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappwill elect one mayor, six councillors, and two school trustees.
Voting will take place in municipalities across the province on Saturday, Oct. 20. In Squamish, eligible voters can place their ballot at Brennan Park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Special election polls will be set up at Hilltop House and Shannon Falls Retirement Residence on voting day for employees, patients and residents.

The District uses the provincial voters list for the local election, but new voters who meet the criteria can register on the Elections BC website at .
If you forget to register, you can still vote, but will be required to show two pieces of identification or sign a solemn declaration confirming your residence.
Voters are required to be Canadian citizens, age 18 or older, who have lived in B.C. for six months and have lived in ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappor owned local property for at least 30 days before registering.
