Squamish's queen of ski cross Aleisha Cline earned her best World Cup result of the season with a 12th place finish in Les Contamines, France on Sunday (Jan. 10).

Cline, who retired in 2004 but made a triumphant return to the sport last season by winning gold at Cypress Mountain, is still competing for an Olympic berth. The 39-year-old has been climbing steadily in the standings, placing 16th, 26th and 35th in her previous World Cup competitions.

Whistler's Ashleigh McIvor, who had already clinched a spot at the Olympics, won the event in France while fellow Whistler skier Julia Murray placed second.
